Wineolgy 102

Looking toward the upcoming 26th Annual Wine Tasting we are offering a warm up for those who are interested in expanding their knowledge of tasting wine. The world of wine can be an intimidating. You know what you like and don’t like but it’s difficult to substantiate the differences and express why. Those who have been discovering wine for some time, the experience has just served to increase their hunger for more knowledge.
Through the Gallery’s annual Wine Tasting fundraiser we’ve heard frequently that patrons want more education but the festive atmosphere of the evening is not the optimal time to absorb knowledge. It’s more a time to enjoy while sharing a glass with friends.
Well now here is an opportunity to learn more about the intricacies of wine. Wine Tasting 102 led by instructor Moss Scheurkogel of Intersection Winery is an excellent class for beginners as well as enthusiasts. The evening is casual, informative and above all else fun. Whether you bring your partner for date night or have a girls night out, by the end of the evening you will have a greater appreciation for the different components and features that make each wine varietal unique.
This session will include the basics of tasting & evaluation as well as a regional experience of wines. “Savour and learn the differences that “terroir” (geography, climate, and soil) and winemaking techniques can make in wine tasting”.

Tickets $25 and are on sale September 1st in the Gift Shop. There is a limit so make your decision early to raise your wine awareness.

Garnet Rogers Live Concert

Gallery 2 is pleased to have Garnet Rogers back at the gallery after several years. “Garnet Rogers has been the featured performer on numerous television and radio programs including Much Music, Mountain Stage, and All Things Considered. He has been a headliner at concert venues and festivals such as Wolf Trap, Lincoln Center, and Art Park; sharing the stage with performers such as Mary Chapin Carpenter, Billy Bragg, Bill Monroe, Ferron, Greg Brown, and Guy Clark. Though Garnet has enjoyed much popularity over the years, her remains resolutely independent, turning down offers from major labels to ensure that he continues doing music his way.” We hope you can attend this concert…it will be worth seeing and hearing.

Tickets at G2 Gift Shop: $22.50 or $17.50 Member price.
